The benefits of specialist joinery

When it comes to the design-led transformation of commercial and residential spaces, the benefits of specialist joinery are crucial to make sure a client’s vision is fully realised and brought to life.

Whether a company is looking to transform their office space to inspire their workers and attract the finest talent, or a landlord is looking to create standout residential developments for a multi-dwelling occupancy building; specialist joinery is a key ingredient to creating transformational interiors.

Where innovation and functionality are critical to obtaining the desired result, a specialised joinery company will collaborate with architects, interior designers, landlords, and builders to help clients vision turn into reality.

How specialist joinery can enhance an interior space

Specialist joinery is necessary while working in commercial and residential areas to give a high specification to the project, adding value to an interior and will exhibit a better finish.

Of course, off-the-shelf furniture will always be needed, but the sole advantage of doing so is that you can save some money.

To attain that wow factor, building specification professionals are increasingly resorting to bespoke joinery to maximise internal environments, ensuring every space is utilised and has a purpose.

When working on a commercial space such as an office, a bespoke joiner will work with an architect or designer initially addressing the specific issues and requirements. So what is the client wanting to achieve by developing the office environment – is it to increase staff morale and productivity, or to attract and retain the best talent to work in their offices?

Bespoke joinery elements required may include floor to ceiling moveable screens that open up a meeting room space but then provide privacy when needed. Or bespoke seating areas that provide intimate areas for staff members to have meetings.

Bespoke features such as these provide that wow factor and are sure to enhance commercial office spaces.

From start to finish, taking care of every detail

In the early stages of a project, JSJ UK works with an architect or interior designer to help realise their vision and develop their ideas further.

Being involved at the earliest opportunity means that we can use our experience to suggest ideas or amendments to a scheme, preventing changes or remedial work further down the line.

Our bespoke joinery services are tailored to provide custom furniture design for interior fit outs in the leisure, retail, commercial, accommodation, education, and health sectors.

Because customer experience is so important and unique in each of these marketplaces, our team has the empathy to understand certain requirements. All of our bespoke furniture designs are meticulously built around the needs of the client and their customers.

Each and every one of our team members play a role in the successful design and fulfilment of a project. From the designers, planners, craftsmen, right through to the installers and aftercare members. We’ve built a solid reputation which is constantly growing and developing with every successful project we deliver.

High specification bespoke joinery for your project

JSJ UK has worked on many commercial office projects, producing specific designs to enhance a workspace to motivate the team as well as helpful storage solutions to ensure a clutter-free and organised environment.

Whether that involves a bespoke one-off piece of furniture such as cabinetry or a meeting room desk, or a fully designed space incorporating a custom interior with many elements and furniture pieces.

We loved creating a bespoke interior for The Observatory – a contemporary office space in Manchester, working with a long-standing client,  Flexible Business Interiors.

Our skillset shone through in the project. Originally envisioned as a concrete plastered ceiling with hundreds of individually fastened slats, we presented a black Finsa slatted ceiling fixed against a concrete laminated backboard, with the flexibility to fix the boards directly to the ceiling, saving time during their precise installation.

George Curwen, Project Director at Flexible Business Interiors, commented:

“JSJ delivered an excellent finished product that was well received by all, and most importantly, the client. This project was a difficult one technically and JSJ excelled in the design stage to turn the architect’s vision into reality on site.

Their attention to detail and knowledge of their craft ensures I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.”
