Seddon HQ, Bolton

Client: Seddon

Location: Bolton

In the refurbishment of Seddon’s headquarters at Plodder Lane, Bolton, our focus was on crafting a warm, inviting workspace designed to foster both creativity and productivity.

Giving new life to spaces including the reception, boardroom, communal kitchen and four distinct workspaces in traditional office format, we aimed to balance aesthetics with functionality.

To achieve this aim, we incorporated a variety of laminate colours, solid surfaces and carefully designed carpentry edges. A plywood finish was chosen to evoke a traditional feel, while acoustic panelling was strategically placed to manage noise flow and minimise distractions.

Distinctive features of the project included the incorporation of print points and tea points into gathering spaces designed to encourage collaboration and camaraderie amongst the team.

Meanwhile, recycle points and upcycled table bases helped to boost the project’s sustainability factor.

Using the appointed architect’s drawings as a foundation, we created CGI visuals and engaged in multiple design meetings to ensure full alignment with the client’s vision at all times. The installation was completed over 10 weeks according to the client’s schedule, making the refurbishment as convenient as possible for the Seddon team.

Having been engaged as a supplier on Seddon projects including Accrington & Rossendale College and Eureka Science & Discovery in Liverpool, we are tremendously proud to have been selected first amongst our competitors to handle the fit-out of the company’s own headquarters.

Nicola Hodkinson, Owner and Director at Seddon said “The refurbishment of our office at Plodder Lane has been much anticipated so it was important we worked with partners we knew and trusted. The spaces JSJ UK have helped us to create encourage our teams to be more collaborative and interactive, whilst aligning with our sustainability goals for this project. We’re thrilled with the final results.
