We were thrilled to once again partner with our repeat client Seddon to deliver a fit-out and bespoke joinery package for the new Darwen Youth Centre, commissioned by Blackburn with Darwen Council. Doubling the size of the former youth facility on the same site, the £4 million project set out to create a bright, welcoming and inspiring space where young people can play, learn and express their creativity.

Drawing on our expertise in bespoke joinery and multi-level fit-out, we ensured a cohesive, high-quality finish throughout the building. Our programme of works focused on transforming the ground floor into a lively yet highly functional environment for all users of the centre. The reception desk and servery feature a welcoming slatted design with gently curved edges and a solid-surface top, creating an inviting first impression.  We also manufactured and installed a contemporary kitchen with Egger Onyx Grey doors and Kronospan Crema Limestone worktops.

In the gym and activity areas, we delivered bespoke lockers, booth seating and benches tailored to suit the layout and day-to-day use of the space. We also designed and installed a dedicated gaming cave, incorporating integrated seating and a purpose-built area for a screen, framed with metal mesh detailing to give it a distinctive, contemporary feel. Storage units and breakout areas were carefully considered to balance practicality with a sense of fun, while the open atrium connecting the ground and upper floors enhances the building’s openness and energy.

Upstairs, our programme of works continued with the creation of staff and creative spaces, including offices, a live room and recording studio for singing and DJing, a creative workshop complete with storage units and pegboards for displays, and a hair and beauty room fitted with bespoke vanities and sinks. Every element of joinery was designed, manufactured and installed by our in-house team, ensuring consistency and quality across both levels.

Completed over a ten-week on-site programme, the project builds on our strong working relationship with Seddon, including previous collaborations such as Eureka! Science & Discovery Centre and the refurbishment of their Bolton HQ. We are proud to have delivered another bold, engaging and community-focused space that will benefit young people in Darwen for many years to come.
